The members of the Asheville Aikikai not
only learn the self-defense techniques but also learn the skills
necessary to operate a non-profit organization. Membership entitles
you to vote and possibly serve on the board of directors. The
dojo holds a general membership meeting and elections yearly
to select board members and conduct business.
Membership also includes joining the United States
Aikido Federation. An individual membership in the USAF entitles one
to test for advancement and participate in numerous seminars held
in our dojo and throughout the U.S. and the world.
Membership dues are monthly
and entitle you to participate in any or all of our regularly scheduled
classes.

Uniforms (Gi) - Aikido
is formally practiced wearing a traditional white Judo gi. Uniforms
are available from the dojo at low cost or you may use another type
of white gi like unifrom to begin.
All classes are open for
observation.
